Our family is getting ready to go on a camping vacation…Honestly, camping hasn’t always been my idea of a good time because I really like the comforts of home. I’m a big believer in real beds but my husband bought me a cot this time vs. an air mattress that deflates in the middle of the night. So I might be able to survive the Seibel Family Camping Vacation.
Tonight, my hubby and I sat down and started making lists. Things we need to pick up. Things we need to grab out of the basement. Things we need to accomplish before we go. One of my “do not forget” items is my essential oils first aid kit. This list was floating around Facebook a couple months ago and I printed it out so I could stick on my fridge. It has been so handy!!
I by no means have all the oils listed on this sheet but I am starting to get quite the collection of oils. I got started on essential oils to reduce the amount of chemicals we have in our house to see if it would help reduce my headaches. Since then I have found so many wonderful uses for them.
Kids running around like crazy people? I diffuse some Peace & Calming.
Both the girls have yucky coughs? I use the Breathe Again roll-on.
Outside garbage can smells gross because the hubby cleaned some fish? A couple drops of Purification takes care of that!
Its nice to be able to deal with minor every day irritants without having to resort to chemicals or medication. So as we get ready for our camping trip my essential oils will definitely be coming with!
Here is a breakdown of what I think I will need for our trip:
Thieves – This is good as a air purifier or to deal with any infections that might pop up. Its also a good all around immunity booster
R.C & Breathe Again – My husband has allergies and sometimes the kids get random sniffles and these seem to help everyone sleep better
Deep Relief – This is a newer oil to my collection but it has become a favorite. It is really good for sore muscles.
Lemongrass & Citronella – I have been using these plus Purification to make bug spray this summer.
Lavender – This is really good for skin issues and helping the kids relax
Melrose – I’m almost all out of Purification so I’m bringing this one instead. Based on my chart I should be able to use for bug bites like I would Purification.
I think have all the bases covered. What do you think? Have you tried essential oils? If so, what ones would you pack for a camping trip?
